Digit Whiz
In recognition of Digital Learning Day, I wanted to share about Digit Whiz, a website I recently came across. Digit Whiz is a web based mathematics intervention site that is teacher created. This online program allows students to take placement assessments, practice math skills through game play, and then take online assessments for mastery.
The nice advantage about this tool is that its focus is for upper elementary grade levels (3-5) and beyond. Too often most fluency and skill based math websites are for K-2 students. Digit Whiz focuses on student progress beginning with Multiplication.
Students learn multiplication, division, basic integer operations, like terms and solving single and multiple step equations through game play. Digit Whiz includes various reports, including one that tracks how often students logon and play games.
An additional feature of Digit Whiz is that it has a FREE app that you can use with the web based program. If you’re looking for something more challenging for your elementary students try Digit Whiz.
